How does CEREC work?
This simple process only takes two steps! First, the teeth are prepared to be digitally photographed by a 3-D camera, which eliminates those messy, cumbersome traditional impressions. Next, the digital information will be forwarded to the lab so computer-aided design (CAD) software is used to design and create customized appliances specifically to closely match your teeth and meet your specific sleep apnea, TMD or orthodontic needs, including Invisalign.
What are the advantages of CEREC?
CEREC holds several advantages over conventional impression systems, including:
- The initial digital impressions can be used for orthodontic records, and the diagnosis also used in the fabrication of Invisalign, orthodontic appliances and TMD or sleep apnea devices, thus eliminating further visits.
